Enjoy Lake Tomahawk
Lake Tomahawk is nestled in the heart of Oneida County on the shores of its namesake, “The Queen of Northwoods Lakes”. Offering easy access to Minocqua/Woodruff to the north and Rhinelander to the south, we provide a more serene alternative to busier, more crowded vacations spots. Located in the middle of the American Legion State Forest, we are surrounded by a vast system of pristine woodland trails, perfect for mountain-biking, hiking and skiing. And don’t forget those snowmobiles! Our trails are some of the best maintained, and marked trails in the county.

Every season presents new and exciting activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Fishing, ice fishing, boating, waterskiing, and scuba-diving make our area a constant playground. A leisurely canoe or kayak trip down the Wisconsin River offers photographers a treasured shot of eagles and waterfowl. Hunters are continually challenged by bird, bear, and our large deer population. Our lengthy white tail season favors hunters with an exceptional success ratio! In our restaurants, galleries, and shops you will experience the warmth and hospitality of a community that values the experience of an “up north” life and takes pride in sharing that with others.
